Embrace Your Family – Rapper, Wale Says, As He Loses His Grandfather At 103
Olubowale Victor Akintimehin, the Nigerian-American rapper, who is popularly known by his stage name, Wale has taken to social media to announce the passing of his grandfather.
The rapper who has been offline for a while shared that his grandfather was aged 103 at his passing via his Instagram stories.
He wrote; “I lost my Grandfather today.. he made it to 103.
I been stayin low lately and lettin God talk to me .. imma smile as much as I can today .Embrace your family! None of this means anything without them .Rest now, Oga. A true Ondo State Legend.”
Wale also shared a snippet of The Source’s recap of his 2014 Revolt TV documentary Wale: I Am From (Mo Wa Lati), which includes a narrative about the musician returning to his native village in Ondo State, Nigeria.
He spent time with his father there, heard about his great-influence grandfather’s on their music, and saw his grandfather for the first time.
