ThankGod Ajiya Michael, popularly known as ThankGod, is a talented Nigerian musician hailing from the native land of Appawa, Lau LGA, Taraba state. He was born on May 20, 2005, and grew up in a community where music was not highly valued. However, this did not deter his passion for music, and he pursued his dreams despite the challenges.
ThankGod completed his primary and secondary education at Jehovah Jireh International College in Appawa Gadda. From a young age, he had a deep-rooted love for music and aspired to become a musician. He recorded his first studio song at the age of 15 on December 26, 2020, marking the beginning of his musical journey.
As an artist, ThankGod is versatile in various genres including Afrobeats, afropop, Trap, and Blues. His music is a fusion of captivating rhythms, catchy melodies, and relatable lyrics. Some of his notable tracks include “Oya Dance” (2020), “Carryover” (2021), “Farewell Jjic” (2022), “Balance” (2023), “Like That” (2023), “Sai Ke” ft. Kazy Weezy (2023), “My Fela” ft. Summer Boy (2023), “Addicted” ft. Gift (2023), and “Cool Down” (2023).
ThankGod acknowledges that building a strong fanbase can be challenging, particularly in an area where music may not be widely appreciated. However, he remains determined and committed to his craft, striving to garner the largest fanbase in Taraba state and beyond. He hopes to connect with listeners through his music and create an impact with his unique sound.
At present, ThankGod has not collaborated with any record labels or studios. However, he continues to work hard and develop his skills as an independent artist. His previous project, the “LoverBoy” EP, showcases his artistic growth and passion for creating meaningful music.
In addition to his musical pursuits, ThankGod enjoys making beats, learning new things, listening to good music, and watching animated cartoons. These interests reflect his creative nature and his constant desire to expand his horizons.
